In the Arms of Kizomba
A dance to find oneself. A competition to lose it all.
In Lisbon, Daniel dreams of opening a cultural center dedicated to Kizomba. Meeting Emma, a dancer with a radiant inner light, changes everything — until someone, in the shadows, sets out to destroy them.
A romance in Lisbon, set to the rhythm of Kizomba
Daniel came to Lisbon to start over. He carries his father's failure like a shadow and holds on to a project that looks like him: opening a cultural center dedicated to Kizomba, the Angolan dance in which two bodies learn to move as one. But Daniel is afraid of commitment — to a project, to a relationship, to his own life.
Then he meets Emma. On the dance floor they don't need to talk: Kizomba becomes their language, made of connection, trust and sensuality. Together they set their sights on a competition in Paris whose prize could fund Daniel's dream.
Sometimes you have to let yourself get lost in someone else's arms to find yourself again.
That is when the past comes back. Anonymous messages, attempts at sabotage, jealousy in the dance world: someone wants to see them fail. Daniel will have to choose between controlling everything and finally learning to trust.
A novel for dancers… and for those who don't dance yet
If you dance Kizomba, Semba, Kompa or Bachata, you will recognize that rare feeling of a perfect connection with a partner. If you have never danced, this novel will show you why so many people fall in love with this dance.
It is also a book for readers who like romance with real tension: more than a love story, an initiatory journey about trust. It was first written in French as Dans les bras de la Kizomba.
