Interview topics

Six angles for an interview

Each angle can carry an episode or a column on its own. The questions are starting points, not a script.

Dance & culture

Kizomba, much more than a dance

Born in Angola, Kizomba has become a worldwide language of connection. Edgard SOZE put it at the heart of a novel.

  • Why can two strangers understand each other after three minutes of dancing?
  • What does Kizomba say about Angolan culture and about Lisbon?
Origins & memory

Another story of our origins, told from Africa

Le Cycle des Âges gives the floor back to the griots: Sirius, the Ages, the Solar Builders of the Nile.

  • What did the griots know that the textbooks leave out?
  • How do you write a saga spanning millennia without losing the reader?
Cycles & our times

The Age of Aquarius: what do the great cycles say?

Sacred astrology, prophecies, a turning point in history: a symbolic reading of the present.

  • Why do so many people feel that “something is shifting”?
  • Can the cycle still be reversed, as the book asks?
Self-knowledge

Reading your temperament without jargon

TOTEM offers a method through storytelling: stone, plant, animal, and three concrete gestures.

  • What do you do when you're tired, hurt, or when nobody asks anything of you?
  • Why a tale rather than a self-help manual?
Writing

The witness's voice: writing initiatory stories

Narrators who have seen everything and speak to the reader: the legacy of African oral tradition.

  • Where does the “I was there” that opens TOTEM come from?
  • What is an initiatory story today, and why do we need one?
Publishing

Three books in one year, self-published

Romance, saga, tale: three genres, three formats and an English translation, in under twelve months on Amazon KDP.

  • How do you go from a manuscript to a paperback, a hardcover and a translation?
  • What should you know before self-publishing?

One line

Edgard SOZE is a French-language author of initiatory stories: a romance danced in Lisbon, an African cosmic saga and a philosophical tale about what we are made of.

Short (≈ 60 words)

Edgard SOZE writes initiatory stories connecting Africa, the stars and the human heart. Edgard SOZE is the author of In the Arms of Kizomba (romance, French original January 2026, English edition May 2026), Le Cycle des Âges (cosmic and African saga, April 2026) and TOTEM: Ce dont nous sommes faits (philosophical tale, July 2026). The books are available on Amazon as Kindle ebooks, paperbacks and hardcovers.

Long (≈ 150 words)

Edgard SOZE is a French-language author of initiatory stories. The books take very different paths, yet each one tells of a passage: the moment someone stops enduring who they are and starts to understand it. Dans les bras de la Kizomba (2026) is a romance set in Lisbon, in which the Angolan dance becomes the language of two wounded people; the novel is available in English as In the Arms of Kizomba. Le Cycle des Âges (2026) is a saga telling the history of humankind from the cosmic Genesis to the dawn of Aquarius, through the voice of the Keeper of the Word, in the manner of the griots. TOTEM: Ce dont nous sommes faits (2026) is a philosophical tale offering a jargon-free way to read one's temperament through three materials: stone, plant and animal. The writing draws on African oral tradition: witness-narrators who have seen everything and speak directly to the reader.
